Regularity rally · Cluj-Napoca
From an enquiry form to complete online entries.
Carpathian Classic is a regularity rally listed in the FIVA calendar. Before, every entrant went through a contact form and the organiser's inbox. Now they enter themselves, in minutes.

Context
A FIVA rally, organised out of Cluj-Napoca.
Carpathian Classic is a regularity rally starting from Cluj-Napoca, listed in the international FIVA calendar as event 820. Classic, modern and electric vehicles line up at the start, on a route crossing the Apuseni Mountains. An event with regulations, classes and crews — precisely the kind of organisation a generic form was never going to cover.
The problem
A site that could only present.
The previous site was a static page built in Adobe Muse, with generator 2018.1.1.386 still sitting in the source. It looked fine as a brochure, but it could do none of what a rally needs: no entry system, no payment, no participant account. Everything that happened after the "GET STARTED" button happened off the site — over email, in spreadsheets, by hand.
- A static site generated in Adobe Muse, with no dynamic part at all.
- A single call to action, "GET STARTED", opening an enquiry form.
- No entry system: crew and vehicle details were collected over email.
- No online payment: the fee was confirmed manually, after the entrant emailed proof.
- No participant account: nobody could check for themselves what they had sent or whether it was accepted.
Before and after.

What we built
A new site, with entries inside it.
We built the site from scratch and put entry at the centre of it. The entrant fills in crew and vehicle details once, gets the confirmation automatically, and the organiser sees the full list in real time and can export it whenever needed, in the shape the timing company asks for.
- Online entry, filled in by the entrant rather than the organiser.
- A participant list that updates itself, in real time.
- Confirmation emails sent automatically on every entry.
- Structured crew and vehicle data, not free text.
- Exports ready for the organiser and the timing company.
- A bilingual site, ready for entrants from outside the country.

The result
The results get measured at this year's edition.
The system went live before entries opened. The numbers — how many entries came in online, how much time the organiser saved, and how many "did my payment arrive?" messages disappeared — go here once the edition closes. We would rather they were missing than estimated.
Running an event with entries?
If your entry lists currently live in a Google Sheet and you write confirmations by hand, it's the same problem. Message us and in twenty minutes we'll tell you whether it's solvable and what it costs.
